Community
Building a community is central to Miniat’s culture. Over the years, our philanthropic mission has grown steadily in scope and impact. We live the Miniat service values by giving back with financial support, the dedication of our time, and by sharing our team’s unique skills.
Serving Our Local Community
With several hundred employees residing within 35 miles of our South Holland, IL headquarters and manufacturing facility or our Carrollton, GA manufacturing facility, it is important that we give back to the communities that we call home. Each year the Miniat team participates in food drives, toy drives, and school supply drives that support local children, as well as hosting an annual luncheon for the South Holland Police and Fire Departments.
For several decades we have also worked closely with the following organizations that hold significant meaning to the Miniat family and company:
By the Hand is a Chicago-based, after-school program that emphasizes academic excellence while nurturing the whole child -mind, body, and soul. By the Hand services Chicago’s most dangerous and under-resourced neighborhoods.
Big Shoulders Fund provides support to inner-city schools that provide a quality, values-based education for Chicago’s children. One hundred percent of funds raised go toward programs that benefit Big Shoulders Fund schools and the students they serve.
Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation is leading the fight against type 1 diabetes by funding research, advocating for policies that accelerate access to new therapies, and providing a support network for millions of young people around the world.
Misericordia Heart of Mercy supports children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Misericordia currently serves more than 600 children and adults residentially, from diverse racial, religious and socio-economic backgrounds.
