Miniat products are enjoyed by nearly 1 million people every day, and that's not something we take lightly. We're continually raising the bar on our internal practices and food safety.
Our meat processing facility achieved Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) certification through the SQF standard in 2013. Since then we have continued to enhance our quality systems to maintain compliance as the SQF standard evolves.
HACCP & Sanitation Programs
From our science-based, NACMCF-compliant HACCP programs, which have been rigorously vetted with qualified food safety experts through our Food Safety Advisory Council, to our internal, cross-functional Seek & Destroy Team who manage our environmental monitoring program enforcing the highest level of sanitation in our RTE areas, we are continuously validating our food safety controls to ensure we have the most robust systems in place.
From the moment product reaches our property, until it ships from our dock, Miniat has the latest technology to ensure our products remain safe. Outside our facility, we maintain 24-hour video surveillance for security. Inside, you'll find x-ray technology used on our products to detect potential foreign materials. Our cooking system controls are regularly upgraded to ensure rigorous process controls are in place, allowing us to accurately produce our products to our customers' many different specifications.
GS1 & EDI Capabilities
Miniat's information resources and labeling systems are fully compliant with GSF1 standards, allowing us to reliably provide our customers with supply chain traceability and shipment data.
Audits & Employee Training
To ensure employees at all levels in the organization understand our quality controls and requirements, we deliver regular training on critical programs. Additionally, we conduct various levels of audits to ensure our protocols are being followed. Daily GMP and product quality audits, and quarterly facility and GFSI compliance audits are just a few of our ongoing assessments.
Food Safety Advisory Council
In 2010, as part of our long-term vision for food safety, Miniat established a Food Safety Advisory Council featuring external advisers who collaborate with us on food safety improvements and constantly challenge us and help us anticipate future regulatory or scientific challenges.
